HEALTH RESEARCH TO ACTION (HRTA)
Turning public health evidence into clear, actionable solutions
Since completing my Master of Public Health in 2010, I have worked in evidence synthesis, evaluation, and knowledge mobilization. In 2023, I began offering this work as an independent consultant, supporting national and provincial public health organizations, non-profits, and community-based groups across Canada by translating complex evidence into practical tools, evaluations, strategies, and learning resources. This work helps decision-makers, practitioners, and policy-makers use evidence to improve programs, clarify priorities, and advance equitable health outcomes.

Bridging the research-practice gap
It is commonly stated that it takes an average of 17 years for research to reach practice. I work with clients to shorten this gap by translating research into clear, timely, and actionable evidence that supports real-world decision-making across the public health sector.
“Evidence-informed decision-making has the potential to improve the effectiveness, efficiency and equity of health policies and interventions. It facilitates a more efficient use of scarce resources in health care, reduces research waste, and improves transparency and accountability.”
